Item No. 10 <br />TO: Mayor & City Council <br />Grayson Path, City Manager <br />FROM: Janice Ellis, City Clerk <br />SUBJECT: CERTIFICATE OF ELECTION, STATEMENT OF ELECTED OFFICER <br />AND OATH OF OFFICE <br />DATE: April 30, 2020 <br />BACKGROUND: On February 19, 2020, the City Clerk issued a certificate of unopposed <br />candidates for Districts 1, 3, and 6. On February 24, 2020 by ordinance number 2020-008, City <br />Council declared Council Members for Districts 1, 3, and 6 elected to office. <br />STATUS OF ISSUE: Pursuant to State Law, a certificate of election shall be issued to each <br />candidate who is elected to office; each elected officer shall execute a statement of elected <br />officer; and each elected officer shall take the oath of office prior to taking office. <br />BUDGET: N/A <br />RECOMMENDATION: An oath of office will be administered to each elected officer. <br />
