A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS,
REPEALING RESOLUTION 2020-027 AND APPOINTING MEMBERS TO FILL
TWO OF THE THREE REGULAR MEMBERS' EXPIRED TERMS ON THE
BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT IN ACCORDANCE WITH SECTION 16 OF THE
CITY ZONING ORDINANCE AND THE CITY'S POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
FOR STANDING BOARDS, COMMISSIONS AND COMMITTEES;
REAPPOINTING CHRIS FITZGERALD AND JERRY HANING TO SERVE AS
REGULAR MEMBERS FOR TWO YEAR TERMS; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS
AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Section 16-100 of the City of Paris, Texas Zoning Ordinance No. 1710
states in part that the Board of Adjustment shall consist of five (5) members, each to be
appointed by Resolution of the City council for a term of two years and two (2) alternate
members for a term of two years; and
WHEREAS, on June 22, 2020 the City Council approved Resolution 2020-027,
appointing members to serve on the Board of Adjustment.
WHEREAS, On July 2, 2020 the City Council at a special meeting voted to repeal
Resolution 2020-027.
WHEREAS, currently the Board of Adjustment has three members with terms that
will expire on June 30, 2020, creating three vacancies; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PARIS, TEXAS:
Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in
all things approved.
Section 2. That Resolution 2020-027 is hereby repealed;
Section 3. That the following appointments are hereby made to the Board of
Adjustment: reappoint Chris Fitzgerald and Jerry Haning to serve as regular members for
two year terms.
Section 4. That this resolution shall be effective from and after its date of passage.
