RESOLUTION NO. 90-059
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did in
Resolution No. 90-022, on' March 8, 1990, approve the
execution of a contract between the City of Paris, the
Chamber of Commerce of Lamar County and the Paris Visitors
and Convention Committee, approving the use of Hotel/Motel
taxes to help fund the construction of a civic center in the
City of Paris; and,
WHEREAS, the Board of Regents of the Paris Junior
College has offered to convey the property located on the
Northeast corner of the intersection of Farm Road 1507 and
South Collegiate Drive described in Exhibit A attached
hereto, to the City of Paris in the form of a Warranty Deed,
attached hereto as Exhibit B, for the construction of said
civic center; and,
WHEREAS, it is deemed to be in the best interest of the
citizens of Paris, to accept the offer of property for the
site of a Civic Center for the City of Paris; NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
that the form of Warranty Deed, with conditions, attached
hereto as Exhibit B, wherein Paris Junior College conveys the
property described in Exhibit A attached hereto, to the City
of Paris for the limited single use as a civic center site,
is accepted and approved.

COLLEGE, acting by and through the President of its Board of
Regents, duly authorized, for and in consideration of the sum
of TEN AND NO/lOO ($10.00) DOLLARS, to it in hand paid by
CITY OF PARIS, the receipt and sufficiency of which are
hereby acknowledged, has Granted, Sold and Conveyed and by
these presents do Grant, Sell and Convey unto the said
CITY OF PARIS,
of the County of Lamar, State of Texas, subject to the
conditions hereinafter stated, all that certain tract or

2. After completion of the Convention Center, if at anytime
the property ceases to be used as a Convention Center, the

property, including the improvements thereon, shall revert to
the grantor, with the grantor being obligated to reimburse to
the entity incurring the same, the reasonable cost incurred
in extending utilities to the property described herein.
3. By the term "Convention Center" is meant a building or
buildings with parking areas in the vicinity thereof used for
cultural, educational or entertainment endeavors primarily
designed to attract out of town visitors and guests to the
Paris-Lamar County area.
TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the above described premises,
together with all and singular the rights and appurtenances
thereto in anywise belonging unto the said CITY OF PARIS, its
successors and assigns forever and it does hereby bind
itself, its successors and assigns to Warrant and Forever
Defend, all and singular the said premises unto the said CITY
OF PARIS, its successors and assigns, against every person
whomsoever lawfully claiming, or to claim the same, or any
part thereof.
