RESOLUTION NO. 90-069 WHEREAS, the City Manager of the City of Paris presented the City Council in regular session convened on the 6th day of September, 1990, the City Manager's proposed budget which would require a tax rate increase in excess of the 10wer of the rollback tax rate or 103% of the effective tax rate calculated in accordance with Vernon's Texas Codes Annotated, Tax Codes ~26.05, to wit 15,47 %, to fund a balanced budget as required by Section 59 of Charter of the City of Paris; and, WHEREAS, in accordance wi th Vernon's Texas Annotated, Tax Code ~ 26.05 (c), a public hearing held at which the City Council must afford opportunity for proponents and opponents of the tax to present their views; and, Codes must be adequate increase WHEREAS, an appropriate time and place for said public hearing is found to be on the 17th day of September, 1990 at 7:00 P.M., in the City Council Chambers, City Hall, 135 1st Street Southeast; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, That a public hearing is called for the 17th day of September, 1990, at 7:00 P.M. in the City Council Chambers, City Hall, 135 1st Street Southeast, for the purpose of hearing the views of proponents and opponents of the tax increase required to fund and balance the City Manager's proposed budget for fiscal year, 1990-91; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Clerk of the City of Paris publish notice of said public hearing in the Paris News on the 9th day of September, 1990, set t ing for th the time and place of said public hearing, which public hearing date is no sooner than the seventh day after said publication date.
