Paris Public Library Advisory Board
Meeting Minutes
July 15, 2020
Opening:
The regular meeting of the Paris Public Library Advisory Board was called to order at 4:01 p.m.
Present:
Board members present were Carol James, Marilyn Threadgill, Jennifer Cullum, Steve Hellmann, and director
Priscilla McAnally. Melanie Loughmiller was absent.
I. Approval of Minutes
The minutes of the previous meeting were approved.
II. New Business:
A. Introduction of two new members – Jennifer Cullum and Steve Hellmann. Mrs. Cullum is a
teacher’s aide in Special Education at Chisum High School and working on a Master’s degree.
Mr. Hellmann is an engineer for Kimberly Clark and has resided in Paris for 16 years. He and his
three daughters that are regular users of the library.
B. Monday, July 13, 2020 the City council appointed Eva Dickey and Lauren Matthews to fill the two
remaining vacancies on the library board. They will be present at the August meeting.

A. Budget Report.
Expenditures in June were on track for the year.
B. Statistical Report.
The numbers are still down from the same time last year, due in large part to the Covid-19
pandemic.
V. Friends of the Library:
VI. Director’s Remarks
The director suggested postponing the annual election of officers from the annual July vote until the
August meeting. This would give the two members just appointed on Monday, July 13 the
opportunity to have a voice in the elections. The members present agreed.
The next meeting will be August 19.
