1989-137-RES WHEREAS, SEPTEMBER 18 FOR SERVICING RESOLUTI ON NO. 89-137 WHEREAS, heretofore in September 18, for servicing 10:00 o'clock the City Council of the City of Paris, did Ordinance No. 89-034, at a special meeting on 1989, approve the purchase of labor and materials City of Paris vehicles. Bids were received until A.M., Wednesday, November 8, 1989; and, WHEREAS, the best bid for such service was made by K Mart Corporation, 703 South Industrial Boulevard, Euless, Texas 76040, and it should be awarded the bid for providing such service; and, WHEREAS, the form of contract for providing such service is attached hereto as Exhibit A, and such form should be approved; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, that the Bid of K Mart Corporation, for furnishing of labor and materials and performing all work required for servicing City of Paris vehicles is hereby accepted and let, conditioned upon said contractor meeting all of the terms and specifications included in the bid documents; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the Mayor of the City of Paris, Eric S. Clifford, be, and he is hereby authorized and directed to execute on behalf of the City of Paris the contract for furnishing of labor and materials and performing all work required for servicing City of Paris vehicles, upon the terms and conditions and in the form shown in Exhibit A attached hereto, with K Mart Corporation. I I. I SPECIFICATIONS AND QUOTATIONS FOR VEHICLE SERVICE The City of Paris will receive sealed bids for the services listed on the bid tabulation sheet. The cost will include, service, labor and supplies to complete the requested service(s). Our fleet includes I.H. Corporation, General Motors Corporation, Ford Motor Company, Chrysler Corporation vehicles. These service quotes shall be valid for a period of 12 months from date bid(s) awarded. Oil shall meet factory recommendations for service classifications and viscosity or A.P.I. specifications (lOW 30, 15W 40 S. G ., C. E. ) Automatic transmission fluid shall be Dextran 11 or meet factory recommendations. Heavy duty gear box oil SAE 90W. Multi-purpose ~hassis lubricant WLG H2 grade. All oil and grease shall meet or exceed vehicle manufacturel-'s ~ecommendation. Police vehicles shall be serviced at 3000 miles intervals; ambulances and rescue units shall be serviced at 150 hours or 3,000 miles intervals and additional city vehicles will be serviced at 4000 miles intervals. Any needed repairs shall be noted on the invoice. Also, a sticke~ denoting the next scheduled service shall be attached to the vehicle in a conspicuous area. Any advertised specials, free gifts or services will not be considered as a part of vendor's bid. ~ Servicing of vehicles/equipment shall be completed within a 15 mirlute time frame.
