1989-119-RES WHEREAS, CITY COUNCIL RECOGNIZES THE NEED FOR A COMPREHENSIVE
RESOLUTION NO. 89-119
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris does
recognize the need for a comprehensive transportation system and
other transportation services for Lamar County; and,
WHEREAS, the transportation services furnished to elderly,
handicapped and persons needing transportation for medical needs,
should be expanded to include fixed or variable routes to area
industries with a fare being charged; and,
WHEREAS, the citizens of
County Human Resources Council,
transportation services; and,

Inc. ,
would benefit from Lamar
providing such additional
WHEREAS, it would be right and proper for the City Council
of the City of Paris to endorse a grant application to provide
such services; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
That Lamar County Human Resources Council, Inc.'s, application
for a Section 18 Transportation Grant for the purposes of
offering fixed or variable routes to area industries and other
points where needed, is hereby endorsed, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the City Clerk of the City of
Paris, Mattie Cunningham, is hereby directed to forward a
certified copy of this resolution to Ms. Betty Kildahl, Executive
Director, Lamar County Human Resources Council, Inc., P. O. Box
725, Paris, Texas 75460.
