1989-087-RES WHEREAS, CITY COUNCIL IN RES NO 89-053 DATED MAY 8, 1989 SUSPENDED
RESOLUTION NO. 89-087
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris, did in
Resolution No. 89-053, dated May 8, 1989, suspend the proposed
rate schedule of Lamar County Electric Cooperative Association
for a period of ninety (90) days effective May 8, 1989; and,
WHEREAS, a public hearing was held at 5:15 P.M. on June 8,
1989, in the Council Room, City Hall, Paris, Texas, for the
purpose of receiving any and all information germane to Lamar
County Electric Cooperative Association's request for rate
increase; and,
WHEREAS, after investigation, receipt of evidence and public
hearing, it is deemed to be in the best interest of the citizens
of the City of Paris to deny such rate increase; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
That implementation of the proposed rate increase is hereby
denied and that the City Clerk of the City of Paris, Mattie
Cunningham, is hereby directed to forward a certified copy of
this resolution to Mr. Campbell McGinnis, Attorney at Law, 1300
Capitol Center, 919 Congress Avenue, Austin, Texas 78701,
attorney for Lamar County Electric Cooperative Association.
