Meeting Minutes
October 21, 2020
Opening:
The regular meeting of the Paris Public Library Advisory Board was called to order at 4:05 p.m.
Present:
Board members present were Carol James, Jennifer Cullum, Steve Hellmann, Melanie Loughmiller, Council
Liaison Linda Knox, and director Priscilla McAnally. Eva Dickey, Lauren Matthews, and Marilyn Threadgill
were absent.
L Approval of Minutes
The minutes of the August meeting were approved.
II. New Business:
a. City Manager Grayson Path spoke with the board about the hiring process for the new
library director.
b. Ron Hervey talked about his job and duties as the library supervisor.
C. Rebecca Taylor explained to the board her job and duties as the cataloging
paraprofessional.
d. The board agreed for the library to accept a two-year subscription to Decisions
magazine from an unnamed donor.

A. Budget Report.
September expenditures were normal for the period.
B. Statistical Report.
Circulation in September was down slightly from the same period last year but up from
the previous two months.
V. Friends of the Library:
Friends will pay for the reframing and restoration of the final Bywaters painting.
VL Director's Remarks
The director will take the last Bywaters painting to Dallas October 29 for work.
The next meeting will be November 18.
