1989-051-RES WHEREAS, COP, PISD AND PJC RESOLUTION NO. 89-051 WHEREAS, the City of Paris, Paris Independent School District and Paris Junior College District and County of Lamar did on December 17, 1986, foreclose their tax liens on Lots 1, 2, 3 and 4, Block E and the east one-half of Lot 3, Block F, Fuller-Donhoney Addition, City of Paris; and WHEREAS, thereafter said property was offered at Sheriff's Sale by the Sheriff of Lamar County, and in the absence of successful bidder, the property was bought by Lamar County as Trustee for the other taxing authorities, and thereafter Lamar County, acting as Trustee received a bid for the resale of said property from John and Denise Williams of $2,500.00, an amount which is less than either the market value of the property or the aggregate amount of judgement against said property; and, WHEREAS, it is permissible under the laws of the State of Texas to sell property so held by a Trustee taxing authority for an amount less than the aggregate amount of judgement against or for less than the market value if each taxing authority entitled to proceeds from the sale under the judgment consents to the sale; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, That the City of Paris hereby gives its consent to the sale of Lots 1, 2, 3 and 4, Block E and the east one-half of Lot 3, Block F, Fuller-Donhoney Addition to John and Denise Williams for $2500.00.
