1989-052-RES WHEREAS, SERVICE REQUIRING AN AREA BOUNDED ON THE NORTH
RESOLUTION NO. 89- 052
WHEREAS, the
heretofore receive
service requiring a
area bounded on the
North, on the north
Avenue; and,
City Council of the City of Paris did
a request for additional water pressure and
12" water main extension to the newly annexed
east by the west boundary line of Highway 271
by Lake Crook Road, and on the south by Stone
WHEREAS, it is deemed necessary for protection of the health
and welfare of the above described area for the City of Paris to
extend the above described line and act in the capacity of
sponsor under the terms of Section IX of Subdivision Ordinance
No. 1315 of the City of Paris with any refunds due under the pro
rata charges being paid to the City of Paris water and sewer
fund; and,
WHEREAS, upon receipt of the above described request,
preliminary plans, specifications and estimate of the total cost
of the project were prepared and delivered to the City Manager
and considered at the regular Council Meeting on the 10th day of
April, 1989, and a public hearing concerning the same was set for
the 8th day of May, 1989, at which time such public hearing was
held; and,
WHEREAS, after hearing the matters presented at the public
hearing the City Council is of the opinion that it is in the best
interest of the citizens of Paris and particularly the citizens
in the vicinity of the proposed project that the City of Paris
act as sponsor for said proj ect, which is necessary for the
protection of health and welfare in this area; and,
WHEREAS, such project should be known as the "Pro Rata 12"
Water Line Extension Hwy 271 North Project" which has a total
estimated cost of $100,000.00; and,
WHEREAS, the front foot method would be equitable and is the
method described on Exhibit A attached hereto; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
That the pro rata 12" water main extension beginning at Lake
Crook Road to an existing 10" water main at Stone Avenue,
containing approximately 2,800 linear feet of 12" P.V.C. water
main line, be, and the same is hereby approved and shall be known
as "Pro Rata 12" Water Main Extension Highway 271 North"; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the City of Paris act as
sponsor of said pro rata water main extension; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the front foot rule is the
method described in Exhibit A attached hereto, less the cost of
oversizing, is found to be equitable and is adopted as the method
to be used for refunding the cost of the water and sewer main
extension to the water and sewer fund of the City of Paris; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the City Manager, Michael E.
MRlnne. be. and he is hereby authorized and directed to P!oc~e?
