1989-057-RES WHEREAS, OFFICE OF THE GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF TEXAS, CRIMINAL JUSTICE DIVISION IS ADMINISTERING
RESOLUTION NO. 89-057
WHEREAS, the Office of the Governor of the State of
Texas, Criminal Justice Division is administering assistance
for the purpose of Texas Narcotics Control Programs; and,
Whereas, the City Council of the City of Paris deems it
to be in the best interest of the citizens of Paris to seek
such assistance and to cooperate with Lamar, Red River,
Hopkins, Delta and Titus Counties and the cities of Sulphur
Springs, and Mt. Pleasant in said project; and,
WHEREAS, an application for a sufficient grant assistance
to fund the Region 22 Narcotics Task Force for the year beginning
September, 1989, ending August 31, 1990, requiring 25% local
match for that portion of the grant to be used as confidential
funds, should be made; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PARIS:
1. That an application be made for a sufficient grant
assistance which will require 25% local matching funds to fund
the Region 22 Narcotics Task Force for the year beginning
September, 1989, ending August 31, 1990.
2. That Michael E. Malone, City Manager of the City of
Paris, be, and he is hereby appointed as the Authorized Official
of said project and is authorized and directed to execute on
behalf of the City of Paris the application fdr grant in the form
attached hereto as Exhibit A.
3. That Benny Brothers, be, and he is hereby appointed as
Project Director and is hereby authorized to execute and deliver
on behalf of the City of Paris all reports, communications,
assurances and documents necessary for the completion of said
project.
4. That W. E. Anderson,
he is hereby authorized and
