RESOLUTION NO. 88-107
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did
heretofore, in Resolution No. 85-049 authorize health care
coverage through Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas, Inc.;
and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris is
desirous of continuing to provide health coverage for City
of Paris employees; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council did heretofore request the
staff to investigate the availability of extended health
coverage for retiring employees and their dependents and it
has been found that such coverage is available through the
current provider, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas Inc.,
by the amendment to the current Contract No. 25724, in the
form of Exhibit A attached hereto; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PARIS, That the amendment to Blue Cross and Blue Shield of
Texas, Inc., Contract No. 25724, attached hereto as Exhibit
A, be and the same is hereby approved, and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the Mayor of the City of
Paris, Eric S. Clifford, be, and is hereby authorized and
directed to execute on behalf of the City of Paris the
amendment to Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas. Inc.' s
Contract No. 25724 with the City of Paris.

Article IX of this contract is amended by deleting the wording of
Section G in its entirety and substituting the following:
G. PROOFS OF LOSS: Except for bed-patient hospital care rendered by
a member hospital, written proof of loss must be furnished to the
Home Office of the Carrier at Dallas, Texas or its duly
authorized agent by the employee, except in the absence of legal
capacity, no later than one year from the date that the services
or supplies are furnished to the participant.
