BACKGROUND: At the City Council meeting of February 22,2021, City Council each selected
a person to serve on the Charter Review Committee. They also selected four additional members,
via names drawn from an envelope. Council Member Savage was not present at that meeting.
Mayor Clifford asked that one position remain vacant so that Council Member Savage could place
a member on the committee, and asked that the City Clerk contact Council Member Savage to
obtain the name of his appointee.
STATUS OF ISSUE: Subsequently to the meeting, Ms. Ellis contacted Council Member Savage
to inquire about the name of his appointee. Council Member Savage said he wished to select
Taisley B. Scroggins.
RECOMMENDATION: Receive Council Member Savage's appointment of Taisley B. Scroggins
to the Charter Review Committee.
