RESOLUTION NO. 88-118-A
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did
heretofore on November 14, 1988, pass Resolution No. 88-116,
which said resolution was incorrect and requires correction,
NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
PARIS, That Resolution No. 88-116, be,
hereby amended to read as follows:

"WHEREAS, the United States Department of Education is
administering assistance under the Library Literacy Program,
and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris deems it
to be in the best interest of the citizens of Paris to seek
such assistance, and,
WHEREAS, an application for such grant assistance in
the amount of $11,800.00 should be made, NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PARIS:
1. That an application be made to the United States
Department of Education for a grant in the amount of
$11,800.00, for the Library Literacy Program.
2. That Michael E. Malone, City Manager of the City
of Paris, Paris, Texas, be, and he is hereby designated
Certifying Representative and is hereby authorized and
directed on behalf of the City of Paris to execute and
transmit the application in the form attached hereto as
Exhibit A.
3. That Beverly Lewis, Director of Library Services
of the City of Paris, be, and she is hereby designated
Contact Person to execute and deliver all other communica-
tions, instruments and documents necessary for the
completion of said project.
