WHEREAS, North Lamar Independent School District is
desirous of water service from the City of Paris; and,
WHEREAS, it is deemed to be in the best interest of the
City of Paris that a contract in the form of Exhibit A
attached hereto be entered into with North Lamar Independent
School District; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PARIS, That the Mayor of the City of Paris, Billy Joe
Burnett, be, and he is hereby authorized and directed to
execute on behalf of the City of Paris the Water Service
Contract attached hereto as Exhibit A with North Lamar
Independent School District.

WATER SERVICE CONTRACT

COUNTY OF LAMAR fi
That, the CITY OF PARIS, Paris, Texas, a municipal
corporation, acting by and through its Mayor, Billy Joe
Burnett, hereinafter referred to as CITY and NORTH LAMAR -
INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT, acting by and through its
Superintendent, Roy C. Chadwick, duly authorized hereinafter
called NLISD, do contract and agree _as follows:
1. Water mains on the campus of NLISD are the
property of NLISD and shall be maintained by NLISD. Mains
leaving NLISD campus become CITY water system property at
NLISD property lines. All unmetered water mains shall be
constructed in accordance with CITY and State requirements,
and all plans and specifications shall be approved by the
City Engineer prior to construction, regardless of ownership
of the main.
2. NLISD agrees to make timely repairs on unmetered
mains and in the event of failure to so do, the CITY may
make said repairs charging the cost therefore to NLISD.
3. NLISD agrees to directly meter all water usage. A
metering plan shall be prepared by NLISD depicting meter
location and size providing for the direct metering of all
water usage, which plan shall be approved by the City
Engineer. In the event of the future need to amend such

plan as approved, such amendment shall be approved prior to
modification of such original plan.
4. NLISD is responsible for renting from the CITY all
meters necessary to meter all water used from the CITY
system by NLISD. NLISD will supply all labor and equipment
necessary for installation of meters.
5. NLISD agrees to read all meters and supply
individual readings to the CITY on a schedule set by CITY.
6. The CITY shall have unencumbered access to its
meters used in metering NLISD's water consumption. The CITY
agrees to maintain at its expense meters installed upon
NLISD campus for the purpose of metering domestic and/or
agricultural water consumption.
7. NLISD acknowledges its responsibility to provide
an adequate fire protection system. The CITY will cooperate
with NLISD to assist them in the accomplishment of this
endeavor.
8. All existing conditions and rate structures
applicable to other out of CITY water customers remain
applicable to NLISD.
