1. William Walker called the meeting to order at 4:35 PM, March 10, 2021, in the City Council chambers.
2. Citizens Forum - There was no one present to speak.
3. Review and approve minutes — A motion to approve the January 12, 2021 minutes was made by Tanner
Dobrovolsky, second by Glee Emmite, motion carried.
4. Coordinator Report — The following topics were discussed by Cheri Bedford. 1) Texas Main Street has a
resource library with various information. Main Street 101 is a general overview of the program and is
recommended for the board. Information for viewing the web -based training will be provided to the board in the
next few days. 2) Downtown Design relates to educational workshops (for businesses, neighborhoods, etc.) and
improvements around the Plaza and throughout downtown to make it more attractive and inviting. Items to consider
are new benches, trash cans, banners, etc. 3) The new Paris Main Street logo and Distrx map will be presented to
the City Council on April 12 or 26. 4) A grant for remodeling and adding new sidewalks to lst St SE from Lamar to
Clarksville was submitted. It was not approved in this round of grants. 5) The board is requested to view
information regarding the Better Block Foundation. The focus of the foundation is to educate, equip and empower
communities' and their leaders in reshaping the current environment to promote the growth of healthy and vibrant
neighborhoods. Public Works will discuss these ideas as well. 6) A form to designate historic locations is currently
being designed. 7) Cheri explained the Main Street budget and highlighted the areas where funds are still available
for projects. With Covid-19 restrictions being relaxed, activities and events need to be planned as soon as possible.
5. Board Members discussion on Main Street Project program goals and outreach - 1) Glee Emmite mentioned an
article in The Paris News featuring Main Street. 2) Tanner Dobrovolsky mentioned the need to begin spring
planting around the Plaza for downtown beautification. Cheri suggested that Main Street partner with Keep Paris
Beautiful for this. 4) Will Walker reported that he is in the process of adding information about downtown murals
on the Distrx app.
6. Future agenda items — Future agenda items will be based on the discussions and suggestions from this meeting.
7. With no other business, Tanner Dobrovolsky made a motion to adjourn, second by Glee Emmite, motion carried.
The meeting was adjourned at 5:12 PM.
