WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did
in Resolution No. 87-001 authorize advertisement for bids
for furnishing plant, labor, materials and equipment and
performing all work required for painting sections of the
Primary 17/35 Runway at the City of Paris Cox Field Airport,
Paris, Texas, being part of Cox Field TAC Project No. 866-24
which bids were received until 10: 00 0 I clock A.M. ,
Wednesday, February 4, 1987; and,
WHEREAS, the best bid for
Airport Markings of America,
Prairie, Texas and it should
construction; and,
such construction was made by

be awarded the bid for such
WHEREAS, the form of contract for such construction
project is attached hereto as Exhibit A, and such form
should be approved; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PARIS, that the Bid of Airport Markings of America, Inc.,
for the above described airport improvement project, in the
amount of $9,465.00, is hereby accepted and let conditioned
upon said contractor meeting all of the terms and specifica-
tions included in the bid documents; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the Mayor of the City of
Paris, Billy Joe Burnett, be, and he is hereby authorized
and directed to execute on behalf of the City of Paris the
contract for said airport improvement project, upon the
terms and conditions and in the form shown in Exhibit A
attached hereto, with Airport Markings of America, Inc.

CONTRACT
STATE OF TEXAS ~
COUNTY OF LAMAR ~
THIS AGREEMENT, made and entered into this 9th day of
February, 1987, by and between CITY OF PARIS, of the County
of Lamar and State of Texas, acting by and through its
Mayor, Billy Joe Burnett, thereunto duly authorized so to
do, Party of the First Part, hereinafter termed OWNER, and
AIRPORT MARKINGS OF AMERICA, INC., of the City of Grand
Prairie, County of Dallas, and State of Texas, Party of the
Second Part, hereinafter termed CONTRACTOR.
WITNESSETH: That for and in consideration of the
payments and agreements hereinafter mentioned, to be made
and performed by the Part of the First Part (OWNER), Party
of the Second Part (CONTRACTOR) hereby agrees with Party of
the First Part (OWNER) to commence and complete the con-
struction of certain improvements described as follows:
painting sections of the Primary 17/35 Runway at the City of
Paris Cox Field Airport, Paris, Texas and all extra work in
connection therewith, under the terms as stated in the
General Conditions of the Agreement and at hi.s (or their)
own proper cost and expense to furnish all the materials,
supplies, machinery, equipment, tools, supeLintendence,
labor, insurance and other accessories and services
necessary to complete the said construction, in accordance
with the conditions and prices stated in the Proposal
attached hereto, and in accordance with the Notice to
Contractors, General and Special Conditions of Agreement,
Plans and other drawings and printed or written explanatory
matter thereof, and the Specifications and addenda therefor,
as prepared by Dick Boots, Director of Facilities herein
entitled BOOTS, each of which has been identified by the
CONTRACTOR and BOOTS, together with CONTRACTOR'S written
Proposal and the General Conditions of the Agreement hereto
attached, all of which are made a part hereof and collec-
tively evidence and constitute the entire contract.
The CONTRACTOR hereby agrees to commence work within
ten (10) days after the date written notice to do so shall
have been given to him, and to substantially complete the
same within 45 calendar days thereafter, subject to such
extensions of time as are provided by the General and
Special Conditions.
EXHIBIT "A"
The OWNER agrees to pay the CONTRACTOR in current funds
the price or prices shown in the proposal, which forms a
part of this contract, such total payment to be made upon
completion and acceptance of the work herein described.
