1987-030-RES WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris has been made aware of the fact that illegal subdivision of
RESOLUTION NO.
87-030
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris has been
made aware of the fact that illegal subdivision of lots
within the City of Paris has occurred; and,
WHEREAS, such illegal subdivision results in hardships
upon purchasers or users of such lots and the expenditure of
many City of Paris man hours, both of which could have been
avoided had the citizens involved properly subdivided their
property prior to the sale or the attempted use of the same;
and,
WHEREAS, the cooperation of the County Clerk of Lamar
County and her staff; the Chief Appraiser of Lamar County
and his staff; the Title companies of Lamar County; the
Lawyers of Lamar County; the Surveyors of Lamar County; and
the City Staff, can result in a worthwhile service to the
citizens of Paris and Lamar County by working together to
assist citizens in the lawful subdivision of property; NOW,
THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PARIS, That the City Council does hereby request the active
cooperation and participation of the County Clerk of Lamar
County and her staff; the Chief Appraiser of Lamar County
and his staff; the Title companies of Lamar County; the
Lawyers of Lamar County; the Surveyors of Lamar County; and
the City Staff, in preventing illegal subdivision of pro-
perty within the City Limits of the City of Paris and within
the 2 mile Extraterritorial Jurisdiction of the City of
Paris and in assisting citizens in the lawful subdivision of
property.
