1987-119-RES WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris, did at its regular meeting on October 19, 1987, approve RESOLUTION NO. 87-119 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris, did at its regular meeting on October 19, 1987, approve the adver- tisement for bids for furnishing plant, labor, materials and equipment and performing all work required for maintenance and custodial service for the following City of Paris buildings: City Hall, Water Billing Office, City Hall Annex and the Paris Public Library, which bids were received until 10:00 o'clock A.M., Wednesday, October 28, 1987; and, WHEREAS, the best bid for such service was made by Harold W. Scott, d/b/a Scott' s Janitorial Service, Rt. 5, Box 158, Paris, Texas 75460, and it should be awarded the bid for providing such service; and, WHEREAS, the form of contract for service is attached hereto as Exhibit A, should be approved; NOW, THEREFORE, providing and such such form BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, that the Bid of Harold W. Scott, d/b/a Scott's Janitorial Service, for maintenance and custodial service in the amount of $1,300.00 per month, is hereby accepted and let, conditioned upon said contractor meeting all of the terms and specifications included in the bid documents; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the Mayor of the City of Paris, Billy Joe Burnett, be, and he is hereby authorized and directed to execute on behalf of the City of Paris the contract for maintenance and custodial service, upon the terms and conditions and in the form shown in Exhibit A attached hereto, with Harold W. Scott, d/b/a Scott's Janitorial Service. The CITY wishes to procure and SCOTT desires to provide maintenance and custodial service for the following City of Paris buildings: City Hall, Water Billing Office, City Hall Annex and the Paris Public Library as described in the bid documents being legal notice, scope of work and bid form, attached hereto as Exhibits "A" through "c" and incorporated herein for all legal purposes and the consider- ation of such services shall be $1,300.00 per month. 2. CITY and SCOTT each bind respectfully itself, its successors and assigns and heirs to this agreement and to the covenants contained herein. SCOTT shall not assign, sublet or transfer its interest in the contract without the written consent of CITY. 3. The term of this contract begins on the 1st day of December, 1987, and runs until such time as CITY or SCOTT gives sixty (60) days written notice to the other that the same is terminated, which termination can be without cause. CITY retains the right to terminate said contract upon thirty (30) days written notice for SCOTT'S failure to perform the services required under this contract. 4. SCOTT must provide insurance as required in the bid documents, certificates of which shall be filed with the City Clerk of the City of Paris. 6. Box 1037, Paris, Texas 75460, will be received until 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, October 28, 1987, at which time all bids received will be publicly opened, tabulated and referred to the Mayor and City Council for their consideration. Bidders are notified of City exemption from otherwise applicable sales and exci se tax. The City of Paris reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any informality in bidding and to award as may be advantageous to the City. Empty and clean all ash trays. Empty all trash receptacles and replace bag liners as needed. Mop all restroom floors. Sweep or dust mop all hard surface floors. Clean and sanitize all restroom fixtures including sinks, commodes, urinals and stall dividers. Clean and shine drinking fountains. Spare toilet paper and paper towels should be placed in each restroom. Supply all restrooms with hand soap. Clean glass on all entrance doors. Dust all office furniture and equipment. WEEKLY Spot clean all carpeted areas that are soiled. Clean and buff all tile and terrazo floor areas. Dust all doors, baseboards, frames, handrails, chair legs, telephones, window sills, window blinds, file cabinets and open areas of book shelves (furniture polish should be used on wood fixtures). Remove cobwebs from corners of each room and ceiling. Remove accumulated dirt and dust from all return air vents. Sweep and remove debris from exterior entrance to City Tax Office. Dust and polish Council Chamber desks and tables. Vacuum and straighten chairs in City Council Room. Replace burned out light bulbs. EXHIBIT B ADDITIO~PL MAINTENJlNCE SHALL INCLUDE: Clean and shampoo all carpeted areas every four (4) months. Strip and wax all hard surfaced areas every 6 months. Clean out ceiling light fixtures once per month. Interior of all windows shall be cleaned once per month. Dust with feather duster all ceil i ng gri ds (s il ver and gol d) once per month. (Library Only) The City of Paris V/ill provide all paper supplies, sanitizers, plastic trash bags, furniture pol ish, soaps and wi ndow cl eaner . All other supplies will be provided by the contractor including but not limited to vacuum cleaners, buffers, stripping chemicals and any other supplies needed that are not mentioned above. All employees of the Contractor when doinq maintenance work under this contract must wear shoes, lonq pants and- shi rts at a 11 times. Maintenance wi 11 be worked Monday through Friday after 5:00 P.M., except for the weekly, monthly, and additional maintenance listed. This can be accomplished on week-ends if necessary.
