1987-129-RES WHEREAS, the City Council did at a special meeting on the 28th day of September, 1987, in Resolution
RESOLUTION NO. 87~129
WHEREAS, the City Council did at a special meeting on
the 28th day of September, 1987, in Resolution No. 87-105,
approve the grant offer from the Texas Parks and Wildlife
Department for construction of a picnic shelter, a
multi-purpose court, a playground area and a paved parking
area in Culbertson Park, which authorized the advertisement
for bid for the same; and,
WHEREAS, the best bid for the construction of the
concrete basketball court, a concrete picnic shelter pad,
light pole footings, and installation of picnic shelter at
Culbertson Park was made by Hilliard & Sons Contractors,
4735 Lamar Avenue, Paris, Texas 75460, and it should be
awarded the bid for such construction; and,
WHEREAS, the form of contract for such construction
project is attached hereto as Exhibit A, and such form
should be approved and the Mayor of the City of Paris should
be authorized to sign the same; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PARIS, That the Bid of Hilliard & Son Contractors, for the
construction of a concrete basketball court, a concrete
picnic shelter pad, light pole footings, and installation of
picnic shelter at Culbertson Park, in the amount of
$22,397.00, is hereby accepted and let, conditioned upon
said contractor meeting all of the terms and specifications
included in the bid documents; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the Mayor of the City of
Paris, Billy Joe Burnett, be, and he is hereby authorized
and directed to execute on behalf of the City of Paris the
contract with Hilliard & Sons Contractors, upon the terms
and conditions and in the form shown in Exhibit A attached
hereto.
