RESOLUTION NO. 86-012
WHEREAS, for a number of years the City of Paris,
Paris, Texas, and the Chamber of Commerce of Lamar County,
Inc., have closely and beneficially cooperated in matters
related to economic development; and,
WHEREAS, the Texas Economic Development Commission has
initiated the Texas Cities for Economic Leadership (TEXCEL)
Program; and,
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Council of the
City of Paris and of th~ Board of Directors of the Chamber
of Commerce of Lamar County, Inc" to continue the long
standing joint venture status of participation in such
ventures; NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PARIS, That the Chamber of Commerce of Lamar County, Inc"
is authorized to apply for participation in the TEXCEL
Program with Patrick J. Ryan, General Manager, to be the
designated contact person for all matters pertaining
thereto;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the City Council of the
City of Paris, joins the Board of Directors of the Chamber
of Commerce of Lamar County, Inc, , in assuring that Funds
necessary to effectively participate in the TEXCEL Program
are, and will continue to be availa~le,
