RESOLUTION NO.
86-076
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris, did, by
Resolution No. 471, passed on March 17, 1950, authorize the
Mayor of the City of Paris to execute with the Housing
Authority of the City of Paris, Texas, a certain contract,
providing for the erecting of 200 Low-Rent Public Housing
Units under Program Reservation No. TEX-48-A, dated January
13, 1950 and said agreement was amended December 12, 1966,
and authorized in Resolution No. 1217; and,
WHEREAS, said City of Paris entered into said contract
with the Housing Authority of the City of Paris, Texas; and,
WHEREAS, Section l(a) as amended provides for a project
of 208 units of low-rent housing; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris has been
requested by the Executive Director of the Housing Authority
of the City of Paris, Texas, Richard Herrington, to consider
amending the agreement between the City of Paris and the
Housing Authority of the City of Paris, Texas, to expand the
number of units of low-rent housing from 208 to 358; and,
WHEREAS, it would permit the Housing Authority of the
City of Paris, Texas, to render a greater service to the
residents of the City of Paris and such expansion of number
of units of low-rent housing and it would be right and
proper to so do; and,
WHEREAS, in order to amend said agreement or enter into
a cooperation agreement, Article 1269L, Section 7-a requires
public notice of such consideration for a full 60 days from
the date of publication of the first notice to the date of
the meeting at which such agreement or amendment is con-
sidered and it would be right and proper for a public
hearing to be held prior to final consideration of the
amendment; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PARIS, That a Special Council Meeting be set for Tuesday the
30th day of September, 1986, at 5:15 P.M., to be held in the
City Council Room, City Hall, Paris, Texas, and that the
first agenda item of said Special Meeting shall be "Public
hearing to consider the advisability of expanding the number
of low-rent housing units from 208 to 358 and that the
second item on the agenda for said Special Meeting be
"Consideration of Resolution authorizing the amendment of
the agreement between the City of Paris and the Housing
Authority of the City of Paris, Texas, to increase the
number of low-rent housing units under Program Reservation
No. TEX-48-A dated January 13, 1950, as amended on December
12, 1966, from 208 low-rent public housing units to 358
low-rent public housing units; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the
