1986-121-RES WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore in Resolution No. 2190 make assurances to
RESOLUTION NO. 86-121
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did
heretofore in Resolution No. 2190 make assurances to the
Kimberly-Clark Corporation as permitted under Section 5 of
Article 970a of Vernon's Annotated Texas Statutes entitled
"The Municipal Annexation Act"; and,
WHEREAS, the Paris, Texas, plant of Kimberly-Clark
Corporation will have completed ten (10) years of operation
and production on June 1, 1993, and it would be fitting and
proper for said plant to remain outside the corporate limits
of the City of Paris until such time; and,
WHEREAS, June 1, 1993, is within seven (7) years of the
date of this Resolution, and therefore, the City Council of
the City of Paris is within its authority to agree, assure
and guarantee Kimberly- Clark Corporation that the Paris,
Texas, plant will not be annexed within the corporate limits
of the City of Paris prior to such date; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PARIS, That the City of Paris, acting by and through its
City Council does hereby agree to and guarantee the contin-
uation of the extraterritorial status of the Paris plant of
Kimberly-Clark Corporation to June 1, 1993, such being a
renewal or extension of its previously granted immunity from
annexation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Clerk of the City
of Paris, Mattie Cunningham, be, and she is hereby
authorized and directed to furnish a certified copy of this
Resolution to Kimberly-Clark Corporation by transmitting the
same to the Manager of the Paris plant.
