1986-113-RES WHEREAS, the City of Paris, Lamar County, Texas, is located within the Northeast Texas Regional Review
RESOLUTION NO. 86-113
WHEREAS, the City of Paris, Lamar County, Texas, is
located within the Northeast Texas Regional Review area;
and,
WHEREAS, the Northeast Texas Regional Review Committee
is vital to the interest of all cities and counties located
therein; and,
WHEREAS, Brady Fisher, County Judge of Lamar County is
a member of the Northeast Texas Regional Review Committee
and will be retiring from the same on December 31, 1986, due
to the fact that he will not be returning to the office of
County Judge; and,
WHEREAS, Billy Joe Burnett has served as a
representative to the Ark-Tex Council of Governments, two
terms as Mayor of the City of Paris, six years as Councilman
of the City of Paris, is able, willing, interested and
available to serve as a member of the Northeast Texas
Regional Review Committee; and,
WHEREAS, Mayor, Billy Joe Burnett is an appropriate
person to serve as a member of the Northeast Texas Regional
Review Committee; and,
WHEREAS, it would be appropriate for the City Council
of the City of Paris to place the name of Billy Joe Burnett
in nomination to fill the seat being vacated by Judge Brady
Fisher on the Northeast Texas Regional Review Committee;
NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PARIS, That Billy Joe Burnett, Mayor of the City of Paris,
be, and he is hereby nominated for service as a member of
the Northeast Texas Regional Review Committee; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the Honorable Bill
Clements, Governor Elect of the State of Texas, is by copy
of this Resolution urged and requested to appoint Billy Joe
Burnett as a member of the Northeast Texas Regional Review
Committee; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That Mattie Cunningham, City
Clerk of the City of Paris, be, and she is hereby authorized
and directed to transmit a certified copy of this Resolution
to the Honorable Bill Clements, Governor Elect of the State
of Texas.
