1985-032-RES WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris, did at its regular meeting on January 14, 1985, approve RESOLUTION NO. 85-032 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris, did at its regular meeting on January 14, 1985, approve the adver- tisement for bids for furnishing all plant, labor and materials, necessary for the complete installation of carpeting and resilient tile floor coverings for the City Hall Annex project, entitled Floor Covering Work, which bids were received until 10:00 o'clock A.M., Tuesday, April 30, 1985; and, WHEREAS, the best bid for such construction was made by Ronald Taylor, d/b/a Taylor Discount Carpets, Paris, Texas 75460, and he should be awarded the bid for such con- struction; and, WHEREAS, the form of contract for such construction project is attached hereto as Exhibit A, and such form should be approved; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, that the Bid of Ronald Taylor, d/b/a Taylor Discount Carpets in the amount of $7,480.00, is hereby accepted and let; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the Mayor Pro Tem of the City of Paris, George Fisher, be, and he is hereby authorized and directed to execute on behalf of the City of Paris the contract for Floor Covering Work, City Hall Annex project, upon the terms and conditions and in the form shown in Exhibit A attached hereto, with Ronald Taylor, d/b/a Taylor Discount Carpets. WITNESSETH, that the Owner and the Contractor for the considerstions hereinafter named agree as follows: ARTICLE 1: THE WORK The Contractor agrees to furnish all necessary labor, materials, tools and equipment to complete the Floor Covering Work as delineated in the Contract Documents prepared by the Architect. ARTICLE II: THE ARCHITECT The Architect for this project is Denney Architects of Paris, Texas. ARTICLE Ill: THE CONTRACT SUM The Owner shall pay the Contractor for the performance of the Work subject to additions and deductions by Change Order, the Contract Sum of Seven Thousand, Four Hundred, Eighty and no/lOa Dollars ____n_- ------------------------------------ ($ 7,480.00 ) . ARTICLE IV: PAYMENTS Based upon Applications for Payment submitted to the Architect by the Contractor and Certificates for Payment issued by the Architect, the Owner shall make payments on account of the Contract Sum to the Contractor as outlined in the Summary of the Work. ARTICLE V: THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS The Contract Documents shall consist of: Drawing Sheet A-I, dated Feb. 5, 1985, revised Feb. 20, 1985 Drawing Sheet A-2, dated Feb. 5, 1985, revised Mar. 10, 1985 1 EXHIBIT A , Drawing Sheet A-3, dated Feb. 5, 1985 Drawing Sheet A-4, dated Mar. 10, 1985 Drawing Sheet A-5, dated Mar. 5, 1985 The Contractor's Proposal The Summary of the Work The General Requirements The Insurance Requirements Any Addenda issued prior to bidding Any Change Orders issued after execution of this Agreement This Agreement 'These form the Contract and all are as fully a part of the Contract as if attached to this Agreement or repeated herein. ARTICLE VI: TIME OF COMMENCEMENT AND COMPLETioN The Work to be performed under this Contract shall be commenced upon receipt of a Notice to Proceed and completed in a prompt and expeditious manner. THE CONTRACTOR AND THE OWNER for themselves, their successors, executors, administratprs, and assigns hereby agree to the full performance of the covenants herein contained. IN WITNESS WHEREOF they have executed this Agreement the day and year first written above.
