1985-088-RES WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, in Resolution No. 85-087, award the 85-088 RESOLUTION NO. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, in Resolution No. 85-087, award the contract for construction of a Wastewater Pumping Station to Johansson Construction Co., Inc.; and, WHEREAS, the Director of Engineering, John Buss, recommends the amendment of said contract by Change Order No.1 attached hereto as Exhibit "A", which provides for the reduction of the instrumentation and control cost, changing the sluice gate requirements, pipe and pipe fitting changes, changes in building construction, deletion of the north meter vault and meter, allowing reuse of temporary bypass piping, clarification in earthwork specification which resul ts in a reduction in contract price to $546,341. 00; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, that the Wastewater Pumping Station contract is hereby amended by Change Order No. 1 attached hereto as Exhibit "A" and the Mayor of the City of Paris, George Fisher, Jr., is hereby authorized and directed on behalf of the City of Paris to execute said Change Order. Change the schedule for SV-l, SV-2 and SV-3 to Read: "Seating head: 30 feet Unseating head: 20 feet Max. Operating head: 20 feet" Deduction $ 4,214.00 3. Pipe and Fittings Section 11205 2.1 Delete the last sentence; cast iron fittings will be acceptable with ductile iron pipe. 2.3 In the fi rst paragraph, change".... cl ass number 52." to read "....class number 50." 3.3 B.l.c. delete the second sentence; restrainer glands will be permitted. Deduction $ 2,689.00 4. Building: The building shall be constructed of 8-inch concrete masonry units with a nominal 6-inch reinforced concrete roof. The general arrangement shall be as shown in the contract documents. Building details shall be as shown on the Contractor's drawing dated October 9, 1985, and as approved by the Engineer. Deduction $ 7,000.00 5. Delete Meter Vault and Meter: Delete the meter vault and meter located north of the pump station structure on the 18-inch pump discharge force main, including: excavation, concrete, miscellaneous metals, reducers, coupling, spool pieces, meter, conduit, wiring, and recorder. Piping in this area shall be IS-inch as specified for this service. Deduction $22,711.00 6. Reuse of Bypass Piping: 27-inch RCP pipe may be used for the temporary bypass shown on the plans. Upon completion of the diversion structure this piping may be re-installed as part of the permanent work where such material is called for in the Contract Documents. Re-used RCP pipe shall be subject to inspection and all other provisions of the Contract Documents. Deduction $ 1,445.00 Total Deduction for Items 1 through 6 $43,659.00 7. Earthwork: Section 02200 3.3, E. Change the last sentence of the last paragraph to read: "....a seal slab of concrete, or other method or methods as approved by the Engineer, to prevent significant desiccation of the clay." 3.7, B.
