RESOLUTION NO.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did
heretofore in Resolution 85-027 authorize contracts with
Thomas E. Hunt, III, as Municipal Judge of the City of Paris
and Cedric Townsend as Inactive Municipal Judge of the City
of Paris; and,
WHEREAS, said contracts expire on September 30, 1985
and it is deemed to be in the best interest of the City of
Paris to reappoint said Judges for two year terms using the
form of contracts attached hereto as Exhibit A and B; NOW
THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PARIS, That the Mayor of the City of Paris, George Fisher,
Jr. be, and he is hereby authorized and directed to execute
on behalf of the City of Paris, the Professional Services
Contract for Municipal Judge of the City of Paris, upon the
terms and conditions and in the form shown in Exhibit A
attached hereto, with Thomas E. Hunt, III; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the Mayor of the City of
Paris, George Fisher, Jr., be, and he is hereby authorized
and directed to execute on behalf of the City of Paris, the
Professional Services Contract for Inactive Municipal Judge
of the City of Paris, upon the terms and conditions and in
the form shown in Exhibit B attached hereto, with Cedric
Townsend.

PROFESSIONAL SERVICE CONTRACT

KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESEN'
This contract, entered into this 9th day of September,
1985, by and between the City of Paris, a municipal corpor-
ation of the Lamar County, Texas, hereinafter referred to as
CITY, and Thomas E, Hunt, III, an attorney licensed to
practice law by the State Bar of Texas, a citizen of the
City of Paris, Lamar County, Texas, hereinafter called HUNT,
wherein the parties contract and agree as follows:
1. That HUNT agrees to serve as Municipal Judge
regularly from October 1, 1985, through September 30, 1987,
said service as Municipal Judge to be in accordance with the
Charter of the City of Paris and the laws of the State of
Texas.
2. That CITY agrees to pay HUNT as compensation for
his service as Municipal Judge at the rate of $37,50 per
hour with a maximum compensation of $13,100.00 for the
twelve (12) month term ending September 30, 1986. The
hourly rate beginning October 1, 1986, shall be as budgeted
by the City Council of the City of Paris, but not less than
$37.50 per hour.
3. That HUNT agrees to satisfy the requirement for
continuing education required in Article l200f of Vernon's
Annotated Texas Statutes and CITY agrees to pay expenses
connected with such requirements. Time spent satisfying
education requirements is not compensable.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties hereto have caused the
contract to be executed this 9th day of September, 1985.

wherein the parties contract and agree as follows:
1. That TOWNSEND agrees to serve as Municipal Judge
as needed between October I, 1985, and September 30, 1987,
said service as Municipal Judge to be in accordance with the
Charter of the City of Paris and the laws of the State of
Texas.
2. That CITY agrees to pay TOWNSEND as compensation
for his service as Municipal Judge at the rate of $37.50 per
hour through September 30, 1986, with a maximum monthly
compensation of $1,000.00, The hourly rate beginning
October 1, 1986, shall be as budgeted by the City Council of
the City of Paris, but not less than $37.50 per hour.
3, That TOWNSEND agrees to take the training required
by State Statute and CITY agrees to pay expenses connected
with such training. Training time is not compensable.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties hereto have caused the
contract to be executed this 9th day of September, 1985,
