1985-074-RES WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris, did at its Special Meeting on August 27, 1984, authorize
RESOLUTION NO. 85-074
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris, did at
its Special Meeting on August 27, 1984, authorize the
refurbishing and repair of the Bywaters Park Peristyle; and,
WHEREAS, on the 22nd day of January, 1985, the City of
Paris did advertise for and solicit bids for the refur-
bishing of the stone peristyle located in Bywaters Park;
and,
WHEREAS, only one bid was received, that being from
Harrison, Walker & Harper, it being in the form of a fixed
fee plus cost contract with an estimate of the cost, all of
which was well within the budgetary allocation; and,
WHEREAS, it was deemed to be in the best interest of
the citizens of Paris that Harrison, Walker & Harper, Inc.,
should be and it was awarded at the regular council meeting
on February 11, 1985, which award should be in all things
ratified; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PARIS, That the bid of Harrison, Walker & Harper, Inc., and
the contract reflecting the same, attached hereto as Exhibit
A, heretofore executed by Mayor Joe Graham, should be in all
things ratified; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PARIS, That the execution of the contract with Harrison,
Walker & Harper, Inc., for the refurbishing and repair of
the Peristyle in Bywaters Park is hereby ratified and the
form of such contract, attached hereto as Exhibit A, is in
all things approved.

THIS AGREEMENT, made and enter~d into this the 11th day
of February, 1985, by and betHeen the City oi Paris of the
County of Lamar and State of Texas, acting by and through
its Mayor, Joe Graham, duly authorized so to do, Party of
the First Part, hereinafter termed OWNER, and Harrison,
Halker & Harper, Inc., 222 Hickory Street of the City of
Paris, County of LillTlar and State of 'l'exa~;, Party of the
Second Par"t, hereinafter termed CONTRACTOR.
\-JITNESSETH: That for and in consideration of the
payment of $2,500.00, CONTRACTOR hereby agrees with OHNER to
supervise the refurbishing and repair of the Bywaters Park
Peristyle which will include the following:
CONTRACTOR is to investigate the condition of the
foundation and to make such repairs as are needed and
to reassemble and level the standing columns and to
point up all cracks, install new electrical and
lighting system and pressure \vashing the completed
structure.
