The Annual Civil Service Meeting was held Thursday, February 4, 2021.
The meeting was called to order by Russell Figgins. Members present were Russell Figgins and
Del Drake. Others present were, Civil Service Director Sandy Collard, and Interim Police Chief
Randy Tuttle and Fire Chief Thomas McMonagle.
Russell Figgins opened the floor for the nomination of a chairperson. Russell Figgins nominated
Melba Harris. Del Drake Second and Melba Harris was elected Chairperson. Russell Figgins
then opened the floor for the nomination of a vice chair. Russell nominated Del Drake. Del
Drake was elected as vice chair.
The minutes of the August 26, 2019 and January 23, 2020 meetings were approved.
The Civil Service Commission scheduled the last Thursday in the first month of each quarter as
their quarterly meeting dates. (April 29, July 29, Oct. 28) Meetings will be scheduled @
3:OOp.m.
Sandy Collard gave the Civil Service Activity Report for 2020.
Review and discussion of revised local rule change correction for 143.023 (2) i) & (4) (h). The
requirements were incorrect and rewritten to match TCOLE requirements. Del Drake made a
motion to accept the revision. Russell Figgins 2nd. Motion approved.
The meeting was adjourned.
