1984-030 - The State of Texas Sesquicentennial celebration;RESOLUTION NO. 84 -030 WHEREAS, the State of Texas is planning its Sesquicentennial celebration; and, WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris wishes to plan coordinating activities with said Sesquicentennial celebration and deems it appropriate to establish the Sesquicentennial Committee of the City of Paris with members appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the City Council with the following duties: promote Sesquicentennial activ- ities, educate the public as to Sesquicentennial activities, coordinate local Sesquicentennial activities with State wide activities and act as the clearinghouse for all City of Paris Sesquicentennial activities; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, that the Sesquicentennial Committee of the City of Paris be and the same is hereby established with membership appointed by the Mayor of the City of Paris and confirmed by the City Council of the City of Paris with the following duties: promote Sesquicentennial activities, educate the public as to Sesquicentennial activities, coordinate local Sesquicentennial activities with State wide activities and act as the clearing house for all City of Paris Sesquicentennial activities. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that members of the Sesquicentennial Committee of the City of Paris appointed by the Mayor of the City of Paris being, Francis Ellis, Sue Smith, Sherrie Langston, Roger Woods, Barry Russell, Dennis Hodgekiss and Linda Suarez, be, and they are hereby confirmed.
