Two 'inputs were received in opposition to the amendment request. The public hearing was declared open. Shawn Napier with EST, Inc. spoke on behalf of the applicant in favor of the "item. Napier states this is a proposed 20 -unit apartment complex with two -three stories. They have proposed three separate entrances into the site to alleviate traffic. Andrew Mack states this 'item is for discussion only. He was approached by a building general contractor Wishing to remodel a residence in order to open a beauty salon. The current City ordinance prohibits barber shops and beauty salons as a home occupation. it may be appropriate to review our ordinance restrictions on what type uses should and should not be permitted as home occupations. The State of Texas allows beauty salons �from the home provided a completely separate entrance and toilet facilities are provided. Mack states there is also consideration for short-term rentals-AI*rbnb's and daycare to be reviewed as well. 6 Commissioners discussed the subject and advised staff that it is worth exploring relaxing some of the restrictions.
