1984-062-RES WHEREAS, the City Council is aware of Resolution No. 82-5 passed and adopted on the 7th day of RESOLUTION NO. 84-062 WHEREAS, the City Council is aware of Resolution No. 82-5 passed and adopted on the 7th day of August, 1984 by the Paris Independent School District Board of Trustees; and, WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris has been concerned with the values established by the Lamar County Appraisal District and reflected in the tax rolls furnished to the City of Paris; and, WHEREAS, the City Council is desirous of the Chief Appraiser following the Property Tax Code of the State of Texas and insuring that both the spirit and the letter of Chapter 23 of the Property Tax Code is in all things followed; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, That it concurs in Paris Independent School District Resolution No. 82-5; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the Chief Appraiser and the Board of Directors of the Lamar County Appraisal District be reminded that Chapter 23 of the Property Tax Code of the State of Texas directs the methods in which appraisals will be made and that the City of Paris as a taxing unit has an obligation and duty to its taxpayers to require the compliance with said Chapter; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the City Clerk of the City of Paris, be, and he is hereby directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to the Chief Appraiser and each member of the Board of Directors of the Lamar County Appraisal District.
