SUBJECT: Resolution withdrawing prior approval for sale of twenty previously bid -off
properties.

BACKGROUND: On March 22, 2021 private offers to purchase several trustee properties were
received and approved by Resolution No. 2021-010. More than one year has passed and not all
of the taxing units have approved the sales as required by the Texas Property Tax Code.
STATUS OF ISSUE: The attached resolution authorizes the City to withdraw prior approval for
the sale of these properties as the City desires to re -purpose some of the Trustee Properties as part
of the 5 in 5 program.
BUDGET: N/A.
RECOMMENDATION: Motion to adopt a resolution authorizing withdrawal of prior approval
by Resolution 2020-010 for the sale of previously bid -off properties.
RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS
WITHDRAWING PRIOR APPROVAL FOR SALE OF TWENTY PREVIOUSLY
BID -OFF PROPERTIES; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS AND
DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Texas Property Tax Code Section 34.05(i) provides that tax foreclosed
properties previously bid off to taxing units ("Trustee Properties") may be sold by private
sale in lieu of a public sale under Texas Property Tax Code Section 34.05(c) & (d) with the
approval of all taxing units entitled to receive proceeds from the sale; and
WHEREAS, private offers to purchase several Trustee Properties were received and
approved on March 22, 2021 by Resolution No. 2021-010; and
WHEREAS, more than 1 year has passed and not all of the taxing units have
approved the sales as required by the Texas Property Tax Code; and
WHEREAS, the City of Paris desires to re -purpose some of the Trustee Properties;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PARIS THAT:
Section 1. The findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all
things approved.
Section 2. The authority to sell the following tracts of real property, as previously
approved by Resolution No. 2021-010, is hereby withdrawn:
