11/21/2022 MinutesParis Visitors and Convention Council Board of Directors Meeting 8 West Plaza November 21st, 2022 4:00 PM Members Present: Chase Coleman, Ryan Whitaker, Mihir Pankaj, Trey Glascock, Cary Lott, Kelli McDonald, Trevor Huie, Bud Mistry, Bradley Hilliard, Bryan Hargis, Eric Guillot, Robbie Todd, and Tim Walsworth. Staff Present: Paul Allen, Becky Semple, Gina Crawford. Paul Allen called the meeting to order at 4:00 pm. Minutes: A motion to approve October minutes was made by Chase Coleman, seconded by Tim Walsworth. Motion passed unanimously. Financials: Chase Coleman presented the October financials. A motion to approve was made by Trey Glascock, seconded by Bud Mistry. Motion passed unanimously. Becky Semple presented a funding request for the Texas K9 Mondioring Trial Dog Show on December 5-11`", 2022. Based on the scoring criteria, a motion to approve $1280.00 was made by Trey Glascock, seconded by Mihir Pankaj. Motion passed unanimously. Becky Semple presented a funding request for Paris High Basketball Tournament on December 28-30`", 2022. It was determined since they successfully put many heads in beds that the VCC would award them with $5000. A motion was made by Trevor Huie, seconded by Chase Coleman. Motion passed unanimously Becky Semple presented a funding request for Slade Baker Memorial Crawfish Cookoff on May 5 -6th. Based on the scoring criteria, a motion to approve $1875.00 was made by Tim Walsworth, seconded by Robbie Todd. Motion passed unanimously. Old Business: Paul Allen stated that we will continue to look into grants and information on electric vehicle charging stations. Becky Semple stated we need to add to the committee for the Paris Solar Eclipse in 2024. The committee consists of Bud Mistry, Mihir Pankaj, Eric Guillot, Tony Corso and Dustin Broadway. Paul Allen stated the TX BBQ event has 27 teams so far and we expect that to grow. Paul Allen stated there would be no VCC meeting in December.
