20 - Appointments to TIRZItem No. 20 TO: Mayor, Mayor Pro -Tem & City Council Grayson Path, City Manager FROM: Janice Ellis, City Clerk SUBJECT: APPOINTMENTS TO TAX INCREMENT REINVESTMENT ZONE BOARD (TIRZ) DATE: August 14, 2023 BACKGROUND: Policies and Procedures for Boards & Commissions adopted by City Council require that appointments be made at the second regular City Council meeting in June. STATUS OF ISSUE: At the June 26 City Council meeting, Assistant City Manager Robert Vine and Fire Chief Thomas McMonigle were appointed to serve as Staff Members to the TIRZ Board. At that meeting, it was determined that there were not enough citizen applicants to fill the TIRZ Board, and Council provided direction to Staff to re -advertise. Since that time, Staff has received a total of six applications, from the following persons: Brandon Bell, Dr. Teresa Bussell, Maureen Hammond, Cody Head, Miles Mathieu, and Amalia Tanguma.
