SUBJECT: APPOINTMENT TO FILL ONE VACANT POSITION ON THE
MAIN STREET ADVISORY BOARD
DATE: February 12, 2024
BACKGROUND: Policies and Procedures for Boards, Commissions, and Committees adopted
by City Council require that appointments be made at the second regular City Council meeting in
June.
STATUS OF ISSUE: Katrina Mitchell was appointed to serve on the Main Street Board on June
26, 2023, and subsequently notified staff that she is unable to continue to serve for personal
reasons. This leaves one vacant position on the board with a term that expires June 30, 2026.
City staff has advertised the vacancy through local media and on the City website. Staff received
three applications, which have been included in City Council's agenda packet. Applicants are
Harley Draven, Kim Kalina, and Melissa Jones.
BUDGET: N/A
RECOMMENDATION: Appoint one board member to fill the vacant position on the Main
Street Board.
