October 16, 2023
The Paris Visitors and Convention Council of the City of Paris met for a regular session at 4:00 p.m. on
October 16, 2023, at the Lamar County Chamber of Commerce board room, 8 West Plaza, Paris, TX.
Present: Board Members: Bryan Hargis, Bradley Hilliard, Ryan Whitaker, Chadlee Johnston, Austin Anthony,
Eric Guillot, and Bud Mistry, Tim Walsworth, Thomas McMonigle, Misty Halcomb and Cody Head.
City Representatives: none
Absent: Board Members: Trey Glascock, Dustin Broadway, Brittany Miller, Monica Clement and Robbie
Todd.
Call meeting to order.
Chadlee Johnston called the meeting to order at 4:00 p.m.
Citizens' Forum.
There was no one present for the citizen's forum.
3. Approve minutes from the meeting of September, 2023. A motion to approve was made by Eric Guillot
seconded by Tim Walsworth. Motion carried. 11 ayes, 0 nays.
4. Receive financial report from September 2023, by Austin Anthony. A motion to approve was made by Tim
Walsworth, seconded by Bud Mistry. Motion carried. 11 ayes. 0 nays.
5. Discuss and act on funding request for Texas K9 Event on November 4-5, and Dec. 9-10, 2023. Based on
the scoring criteria a motion to approve $1005 was made by Eric Guillot, seconded by Cody Head. Motion
carried. 11 ayes. O nays.
6. Discuss and act on funding the Reel Heros Big Bass Classic on November 11, 2023. Based on the scoring
criteria a motion to approve a $1,000 was made by Tim Walsworth, seconded by Misty Holcomb. Motion
carried. 11 ayes, 0 nays.
7. Discuss and act on funding request for Paris High Basketball Tournament on Dec 28-30, 2023. Based on the
scoring criteria a motion to approve $5000 was made by Tim Walsworth, seconded by Misty Halcomb.
Motion carried. 11 ayes, 0 nays.
8. Discuss and act on funding request for Daryl Feslberg Tower City Comedy Weekend, January 24-27, 2024.
Based on the scoring criteria a motion to approve $2250 was made by Eric Guillot, seconded by Bud Mistry.
Motion carried. 11 ayes, 0 nays.
9. Discussion. Paul Allen stated that the Casey Strong pump Track event is October 21. Chamber Celebration
is October 24, 2023. Neil McCoy concert will be held on November 30t1i.
10. Adjournment.
There being no further business, A Motion to adjourn was made by Board Member Ryan Whitaker, seconded
by Board Member Chadlee Johnston. Motion carried, 11 ayes — 0 nays. Chadlee Johnston, Paris
Convention and Council Board Chair adjourned the meeting at 4:15 p.m.
