2. Review minutes from the September 12, 2023.
3. Discussion and possible action on the following Building Improvement Grant Application for the
amount of $5000 -Ryan Matthews Paris Brewing Company
a,. 39 N. Main St. —Improvements to alley, signage, and interior ventilation system.
The Main Street advisory reviewed a grant requestfo r $5000 submitted by Ryan Matthews to
improve the rear of the building, including a seating area, and a green space to be usedfor
separationfrom the neighboring buildings.Also included in the request is a sign painted on the
side of the building and an interior ventilation system to be usedfor restaurant service.
A motion was made to approve the BIG grant request in the amount of $5000 by Glee Emmite,
seconded by William Walker, Motion carried 5 ayes, 0 nays
4. Board Member Activity Reports:
Chairman Kee gave a brief report on volunteers from Paris New Generation and CF Paris
Ch urches participating in organizing the childrens games for the Festival of Pumpkins
Glee Emml*te gave the reportfor the Paris Downtown Associations is makingplansfor
Mannequin Night coming on October 21, ribbon cutti'ongsfor new businesses opening. PDA is
also working on the Parade coming the 1St Saturday night in December (2n1Also Paris
Downtown Association is hosting a window decoration contest.
5. Coordinators Report: Cheri Bedford
Ms. Bedford gave the update that the workplan is setfor November 16 at 5,ID30 p. m. - 8: 00 p. m. and
December 5th., held at Community Room at the Union Station Depot on Bonham St.. Consultant
Sarah Main Street O'Brien sent a survey to everyone. All downtown stake holders were invited. No
November regularly scheduled Main Street Board Meeting in November and December.
Sandwiches are provided.
Reminded everyone about the Annular Eclipse on Oct 14- get the viewing glasses.
Pumpkin Festival — All hands on deckfor the Main Street Booth. Volunteer shifts were given, and
the board members all signed upfor a 2 hour shift. Could not be done without volunteer support
and sponsors.
Cheri*, Andrew, and Becky will be going to the Go Texan pavilion at the State Fair of Texas to
promote Paris, and the Farmers Market.
The Christmas tree lighting is scheduledfor NOV 18. Many downtown partners will be helping
make this event special. Renee Harvey is providing wagon rides. Light up Paris has designed the
Christmas tree with funds from Light up Paris, as discussed in the previous Main Street Board
meeting. Additio'onalinancial partners include Chisum Steel, Pickle printing, Spencer Orthodontics
Volunteers are needed. This event iosfree.
Quarterly report due and social mediafor the lighting i'Os at an all-time high.
