May 20, 2024
The Paris Visitors and Convention Council of the City of Paris met for a regular session at 4:00 p.m. on May
20, 2024, at the Lamar County Chamber of Commerce board room, 8 West Plaza, Paris, TX.
Present: Board Members: Bradley Hilliard, Ryan Whitaker, Russell Jackson, Austin Anthony, Eric Guillot,
Chadlee Johnston, Thomas McMonagle, Misty Halcomb, Bryan Hargis and Monica Clement.
City Representatives: none
Absent: Board Members: Tim Walsworth, Bud Mistry, Brittany Miller, Cody Head, Sherrie Holbert, Trey
Glascock
Call meeting to order.
Chadlee Johnston called the meeting to order at 4:01 p.m.
Citizens' Forum.
There was no one present for the citizen's forum.
3. Approve minutes from the meeting of April 15, 2024. A motion to approve was made by Bradley Hilliard
seconded by Eric Guillot. Motion carried. 10 ayes, 0 nays.
4. Receive financial report from April 2024, by Austin Anthony. A motion to approve was made by Thomas
McMonigle, seconded by Misty Halcomb. Motion carried. 10 ayes. 0 nays.
5. Discuss and act on funding request for Slade Baker Crawfish Cookoff on May 3rd and 01. Based on the
scoring criteria a motion to approve $1650 was made by Eric Guillot, seconded by Bryan Hargis. Thomas
McMonigle abstained from voting. Motion carried. 10 ayes. O nays.
6. Discuss and act on funding request for Red River Valley Fair on September 24th-28t1i Based on the scoring
criteria a motion to approve $1825 was made by Misty Halcomb, seconded by Ryan Whitaker. Motion
carried. 10 ayes. O nays.
7. Paul Allen stated that we had 306 archery shooters with families here on May 17t1i weekend. Jetski Corporate
challenge is May 24 with 35 participating. The test and tune had about 600 people here as shown by placer,
quilt show around 400, Uncle Jessee about 800 and Slade Baker 700. 903 Concerts in June, and Tour de
Paris in July.
8. Adjournment.
There being no further business, A Motion to adjourn was made by Board Member Ryan Whitaker, seconded
by Board Member Chadlee Johnston. Motion carried, 10 ayes — 0 nays. Chadlee Johnston, Paris
Convention and Council Board Chair adjourned the meeting at 4:18 p.m.
