SUBJECT: APPOINTMENTS TO BOARDS & COMMISSIONS
DATE: July 8, 2024
BACKGROUND: Policies and Procedures for Boards & Commissions adopted by City Council
require that appointments be made at the second regular City Council meeting in June.
At the June 10, 2024 meeting, City Council deferred making appointments to the July 8, 2024
meeting, which would allow City Council time to appoint a new Council Member and get him or
her seated in the vacated position of District 2. The purpose was to ensure that District 2 would
have representation in appointment of new Board Members.
STATUS OF ISSUE: Currently there are board members whose terms are expired effective June
30, 2024, and they are in a hold over position. There are also several unexpired terms to be filled
on various City Boards and Commissions. The City Clerk has received applications, verified
residence and voter registration, provided those applications to City Council in paper form, and
downloaded copies onto their I -Pads.
BUDGET: N/A
RECOMMENDATION: Appoint members to the fill board and commission vacancies.
