Citizen forum: Board Members: Greg Kee, Glee Emmitejyrone Hayden, Seth Johnson, Melissa Jones City Representatives: Cheri Bedford, Main Street Manager; Rob Vine, Deputy City Manager; Board members: Kari Daniel, William Walker No one presented at citizens forum. 2. Review minutes from the March meeting: A motion was made to approve the meeting minutes by Emmite. Motion was seconded by Hayden. 6 ayes, 0 nays 3. Committee Reports: a. Suzy Harper is welcoming more ideas,lbr lighting on the poles/banner standards. b. & Chamber - 903 Sun Sets is a rapidly growing success with the largest attendance numbers to dale. Chamber is also gearing up for the Tour de Paris, July 20. c. PDA - Emmile reported that all leftover eclil),.se glasses were donated to a local high school student who is, sharing them with other parts cif the world She again noted that Paris Coffee Downtown is the newest PDA member and the Corner Cafe will open soon. Preparation for 2024 Mannequin Night is underwa)), including aSpecial Events permit request. d. Main street events - Across the state ol'Texas, Eclipse numbers were less than expected, mostly due to weather. Paris welcomed approximately 10, 000 visitors. Re.- Wine/est 2024, much positive feedback had been received Between 16K and 17h' was made from this sold -out event. One participating winery mentioned that S150.00 isnotasq� ,ficiew amount ot"stipend which the committee will consider for next year The VIP experience was a raving success. So much, that a larger venue is being considered,lbr next year e. Farmers Market - The market is up and running, with 60 registered vendors. A vendor application can be found online. New this year.- a child's entrepreneur spot has been made available, to encourage the next generation to participate. Upcoming events include, Hatch Chile F'esl the end qfAugust, Salsa on the Square on Sept 21st and the Annual Pumpkin T'estival, Oct 28, 2024. Another possible event is Gospel Night on the Square. J.' Historic Preservation - Seth Johnson reported that there was no update. 4. Coordinators Report: Paris (,'Qftee downtown is doing great. Corner Cafe should open for business sometime the end qf,June. There have been reports and concerns about downtown vandalism, which seems to be a growing state -side concern. Police Chief is encouraging citizens to call the police department and report any vandalism or destruction. Bedford recently spoke at a Main Street training, in San Angelo, on the topic ref Vacant Property ordinance. Fines starting at S500 and increasing after one year, will be collected and given to downtown development. Waivers are available. The 1st Street program (our venue block) is in motion, (is reported by Todd Aletkey. A Brick Paver Program is being considered to help fiend the I sl street program.
