SUBJECT: PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED 2024-25 TAX RATE
DATE: September 9, 2024
BACKGROUND: A public hearing on the proposed City tax rate is required by Chapter 26 of
the Texas Tax Code. The proposed tax rate was discussed by the City Council during its August
12th Council meeting, August 19th and August 22" a budget workshops, and the August 26th Council
meeting.
STATUS OF ISSUE: The City Council needs to hold a public hearing on the 2024-25 proposed
City tax rate on September 9, 2024. A legal notice of the public hearing was published in the Paris
News announcing the hearing. A copy of the proposed property tax rate can be found on the City
website.
BUDGET: N/A
RECOMMENDATION: Hold a public hearing on the proposed 2024-25 City tax rate.
