Mission Statement: The Historic Preservation Commission exists to promote rehabilitation of Paris'
historic assets. We strive to protect and maintain the integrity of our city's rich history. It's our goal to
enhance the use, education, enjoyment, and economic benefit of the Historic Districts by preserving its
buildings for present and future generations.

5. Discussion and possible action on the following Certificate of Appropriateness for property
located in the HD -2 Church Street Historic District -833 S Church Street. — David Richards.
A. Adding an Accessory Building to residence. Property ID #16581 & 16586 platted into
one lot and approved final on file with City. Building to match exterior finish ofhouse
as listed in notes on plans. Garage to face East and driveway to enter from 3rd S.E.

6. Discussion and possible action on the following Certificate of Appropriateness for property
located in the HD -2 Church Street 1--listoric District -136 & 138 Clarksville Street. — I.,udwick
Building.
A. Originally constructed in 1916 as the t,udwick Grocery and located in the Paris
Historic District in Paris, TX. Though quite simple, the L,udwick Grocery Building
with its elegant details is an important character -defining contributing feature of Paris'
Downtown. While the metal panels previously attached to the exterior rendered the
building non-contributing when the district was formed, the panels appear to have
preserved the beauty of the building. The building is to be restored to its original
exterior appearance and will retain its function as a restaurant under a new owner.

7. Discussion and possible action on the following Certificate of Appropriateness for property
located in the HD -2 Church Street Historic District -528 S Main Street. — David Chase.
A. Originally constructed in 1921, the J.J. Culbertson House, located in the Church Street
Historic District in Paris, TX is the district's best representation of early 20th century
Prairie School architectural style and is under consideration for a certified
rehabilitation using state and federal rehabilitation tax credits.

for property located in FID 1 -Downtown Historic District -122 Bonham, Jason Boehlar
A. Repair and replace rotted wood awning. Remove metal tin that previous owner had
covering windows

for property located in HD I -Downtown Historic District -120 N Main s,r, Jason Boehlar
A. Removing old windows and replacing with new windows. Painting Just Window
Frames

Discussion and possible action regarding the following structures considered by code
inspectors to be in violation of Article III of Chapter 7 of the Code of Ordinances of the City
of Paris, Paris, Texas, entitled "Substandard and Dangerous Buildings and Structures," to
determine whether such buildings or structures can be rehabilitated and designated on the
National Register of Historic Places, as a recorded Texas Historic Landmark, or as historic
property as designated by the City Council of the City of Paris.
