2005-140-RES APPROVING PURCHASE OF FURNITURE FOR POLICE AND COURTS BUILDING THROUGH TEXAS BUILDING AND PROCUREMENT COMMISSION
RESOLUTION NO. 2005-140
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
PARIS, TEXAS, APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF FURNITURE FOR THE
NEW POLICE AND COURTS BUILDING THROUGH THE TEXAS
BUILDING AND PROCUREMENT COMMISSION; MAKING OTHER
FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND
DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Texas Building and Procurement Commission (TBPC) has established,
as an alternative purchasing method, the use of Texas Multiple Award Schedule (TXMAS)
contracts that have been developed from contracts that have been competitively awarded by the
federal government or any other governmental entity of any state; and,
WHEREAS, as the responsible federal entity, the General Services Administration's
(GSA) Federal Supply Service awards Federal Supply Schedule contracts by competitive
procurement procedures for more than 50 schedules that cover multiple commodities and services;
and,
WHEREAS, the prices reflected on GSA schedule contracts are the most favored customer
(MFC) prices and the maximum price allowable.
WHEREAS, it is deemed appropriate that the City of Paris purchase furniture for the new
Police and Courts facilities through said the Texas Multiple Award Schedule; and,
WHEREAS, it is further deemed appropriate that the City Manager of the City of Paris,
be authorized to execute a purchase order for the furniture budgeted for the new Police and Courts
facilities as shown on Exhibit A, attached hereto, for a total purchase price of $261,506.03, and
the same should in all things be approved; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS,
TEXAS:
Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all
things approved.
Section 2. That the purchase of the budgeted furniture for the new Police and Courts
facilities through the Texas Building and Procurement Commission (TBPC) and the Texas
Multiple A ward Schedule for a total purchase price of $261,506.03 be, and is hereby approved,
and that the City Manager of the City of Paris be authorized to execute, on behalf of the City of
Paris, a purchase order for said furniture as shown on Exhibit A attached hereto.
Section 3. That this resolution shall become effective from and after its date of passage.
