RESOLUTION NO. 2006-004
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
PARIS, TEXAS, APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF
A QUITCLAIM DEED FROM THE CITY OF PARIS TO THE MINNIE
MASON ESTATE FOR LOT 26, CITY BLOCK 88 LOCATED AT 756 6TH
STREETNW; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED
TO THE SUBJECT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, has become the owner/Trustee of real
property being Lot 26, City Block 88, located at 756 6th Street NW, by virtue of the fact that a
sufficient bid was not received at a sale conducted by the Sheriff pursuant to an order of the
District Court in the Cause Number 71093; and,
WHEREAS, Mr. Thurman Mason is redeeming this property on behalf of the Minnie
Mason Estate and has tendered the $9,253.00 needed for redemption of potential buyer of the
property has come forward; and,
WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of all the taxing entities involved that the property be
returned to its respective tax rolls; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS,
TEXAS:
Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all
things approved.
Section 2. That the Mayor be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to execute, on
behalf of the City of Paris as Trustee, the Quitclaim Deed and any and all documents necessary
to convey the property described as Lot 26, City Block 88, being number 756 6th Street NW, in
the form, attached hereto as Exhibit A, for and in consideration of$9,253.00, which said amount
covers all the tax, court costs and attorney fees owned against said property, said money to be
distributed pursuant to Chapter 34 of the Texas Property Code.
Section 3. That this resolution shall be effective from and after its date of passage.

quitclaim unto said grantee(s) all of the right, title and interest of all other taxing units interested in the tax foreclosure
judgment against the property herein conveyed, acquired by tax foreclosure sale heretofore held under Cause No. 71093,
styled: Lamar County Appraisal District vs. Minnie Mason, et aI, in the district court of said county, said property being
located in Lamar County, Texas, and described as follows:
0.112 ACRE, MORE OR LESS, SITUATED IN THE LARKIN RATTAN SURVEY, CITY OF PARIS, LAMAR COUNTY,
TEXAS, AND DESCRIBED IN DEED DATED AUGUST 14, 1943 FROM GEMES MASON TO MINNIE MASON, RECORDED
IN VOLUME 268, PAGE 535, DEED RECORDS OF LAMAR COUNTY, TEXAS (ACCT #15255 PARIS lSD, PARIS JR.
COLLEGE, CITY OF PARIS & LAMAR CO.)
TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the said premises, together with all and singular the rights, privileges, and
appurtenances thereto in any manner belonging unto the said grantee(s), their heirs and assigns forever, so that neither grantor,
nor any other taxing unit interested in said tax foreclosure judgment, nor any person claiming under it and them, shall at any
time hereafter have, claim or demand any right or title to the aforesaid premises or appurtenances, or any part thereof.
This deed is expressly given as evidence of the Grantees' full redemption of said property pursuant to Section 34.21,
Texas Tax Code Ann. (Vernon's 1982).
