RESOLUTION NO. 2006-008
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
PARIS, TEXAS, SETTING A PUBLIC HEARING TO CONSIDER A
REQUEST FOR WATER SERVICE TO THE AREA ALONG A
PORTION OF 42ND STREET S.E., A PRIV ATE ROAD, BEGINNING
AT OLD CLARKSVILLE STREET AND ENDING ON THE NORTH
SIDE OF HIGHWAY 271 SOUTH, WHICH COULD BE BEST SERVED
BY A PRO RATA WATER EXTENSION BEGINNING AT OLD
CLARKSVILLE STREET TO AN EXISTING MAIN; MAKING OTHER
FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND
DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris has received a request for water
service to the area bounded on the South by Highway 271, on the North by the north
boundary line of Lot 2, City Block 347, on the East by private road right-of-way (known
as 42nd Street S.E.), City Block 353, and on the West by Lot 2, City Block 347, which
could be best served by a pro rata water extension beginning at the north boundary line of
said Lot 2 going south approximately 900 feet to the north boundary line of Highway 271,
starting in Old Clarksville Road by tying into an existing main, containing approximately
1,015 linear feet of8" P.V.c. water main line; and,
WHEREAS, the City Engineer has prepared preliminary plans, specifications and
estimates of the total cost of the project attached hereto as Exhibit A; and,
WHEREAS, it would be right and proper to have a public hearing concerning the
same at the regular council meeting on February 13,2006, at which time the City Council
will determine whether or not the pro rata project should be had; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
PARIS, TEXAS:
Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby
in all things approved.
Section 2. That a public hearing be held by and before the City Council of the City
of Paris in regular session convened on the 13th day of February, 2006, at 6:00 o'clock
p.m., at City Council Chamber at 107 E. Kaufman, Paris, Texas, at which time the matter
of a water main pro rata extension from an existing water main in Old Clarksville Road
south to the north side of Highway 271 South to an existing water main containing
approximately 1,015 linear feet of 8" PVC water main line will be considered.
Section 3. That this resolution shall be effective from and after its date of passage.

TO ALL INTERESTED PERSONS AND THE PUBLIC IN GENERAL:
YOU ARE HEREBY NOTIFIED that the City of Paris will determine whether or not to
sponsor a pro rata 8" water line to serve the area bounded on the South by Highway 271,
on the North by the North Boundary Line of Lot 2, City Block 347, on the East by private
road right-of-way (known as 42nd Street S.E.), City Block 353, and on the West by Lot 2,
City Block 347, from the North Boundary Line of Highway 271going North across said
Lot 2 a distance of approximately 900 feet to an existing main under Section IX of
Subdivision Ordinance No. 1315. The proposed pro rata extension will consist of
approximately 1,015 linear feet of8" P.V.C. water line and appurtenances.
NOW, THEREFORE, as required by law, notice is hereby given to the public
generally that a Public Hearing will be held by and before the City Council of the City of
Paris, Paris, Texas at 6:00 P.M. on the 13th day of February, 2006, in the City Council
Chamber, 107 E. Kaufman Street, Paris, Lamar County, Texas, when and where the City
Council will hear all relevant matters and persons in connection with the proposed pro rata
water line extension.
