MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE LffiRARY
ADVISORY BOARD
December 14, 2005
The Paris Public Library Advisory Board met in regular session Wednesday, December
14,2005, at 4:00 PM at the home of Chairman Bill Kennedy. The following Board
members were present: Jackie Alsobrook, Debbie Anderson, Sarah Gambil~ Deborah
Hatley, Bill Kennedy, Audrey Lakes, Fran Neeley, and Jake Street. Also attending were
Priscilla McAnally, Library Director and Amanda Green, Friends of the Library
President.
The minutes from the November meeting were approved.
The budget report was favorable.
Ms. McAnally discussed the web site upgrade within the City of Paris computer system.
The library site should be completed and back online soon.
November circulation statistics were down 24% from the same month of2004, and
library visits were down 8%. A total of 317 new items were added to the collection in
November. 130 new library cards were issued.
There were 17 memorial donations for November totaling $615.
There were 8 Children's programs with 67 children and 57 adults attending. Three tours
were given to Pre-Kindergarten children from Givens Elementary students.
Friends of the Library President Amanda Green distributed a copy of the recently mailed
newsletter.
Book sales in the lobby to benefit the library continue to bring in approximately $80 per
week. Dr. Green is in search of a warehouse or space that might be used for book storage
for future book sales.
April 24 is the date for the Spring Luncheon. EUy Lindsay from Dallas will speak on
Shakespeare's Sonnets.
The meeting adjourned at 4 :25 PM.
The next meeting will be Wednesday, January 18, 2006 in the Gallery.
