AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, PROVIDING THAT ORDINANCE NO. 2005-055, PASSED AND ADOPTED ON THE 10TH DAY OF OCTOBER, 2005, BE AMENDED BY REVISING SECTION 3 OF SAID ORDINANCE; PROVIDING THAT A REFERENCE THEREIN TO BE CHANGED TO OMIT CERTAIN WORDING; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 10th day of October, 2005, in Ordinance No. 2005-055, nominate Kimberly-Clark Corporation as a qualified business and double jumbo enterprise project under Chapter 2303 of the Texas Government Code, known as the Texas Enterprise Zone Act; and, WHEREAS, the Office of the Governor, Economic Development and Tourism, has received and reviewed Kimberly-Clark's application and has submitted a letter to the City and Kimberly- Clark setting out certain deficiencies in the application that must be corrected prior to their completion of consideration; and, WHEREAS, the Office of the Governor has advised the City that Section 3 of said Ordinance No. 2005-055 should be revised to omit certain language contained therein stating "or its successor in interest"; and WHEREAS, in order for Kimberly-Clark to be considered in the current round of potential enterprise project designations, it is deemed appropriate that the City Council amend said Ordinance No. 2005-055 accordingly; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS: Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this ordinance are hereby in all things approved. Section 2. That Section 1 of Ordinance No. 2005-0550fthe City of Paris, Paris, Texas, be, and the same is hereby, amended so that such shall read as follows: "Section 3. That the City finds that KIMBERL Y -CLARK CORPORATION ('Kimberly-Clark') meets the criteria for designation as an enterprise project under the Act on the following grounds: .. ._. ~~.
