1994-036-RES WHEREAS, CITY COUNCIL IS AND HAS BEEN WITH ENSUING THAT THE DISTRICTS OF COP
RESOLUTION NO. 94-036
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris is and has been concerned
with ensuring that the districts of the City of Paris are constitutionally constituted;
and,
WHEREAS, the City Council did heretofore authorize in Resolution No. 94-
015 the Attorney, Bob Bass to proceed with the Redistricting process; and,
WHEREAS, preliminary maps have been furnished which would meet
constitutional requirements and it is appropriate that a citizens committee be
established to review and comment concerning the proposed redistricting map; and,
WHEREAS, the Councilmen from the several districts have made
recommendations to the Mayor in accordance with Resolution No. 94-016 for
appointments to such committee; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
that the appointment by the Mayor of the City of Paris of Leon Williams, Patsy
Williams, Foster Stone, Clovis Graves, Dorothy Harrison, Walter Williams, Bernard
W. Knight, Sr., Robert High, Nadine Ausbie, Billy Trenado, Paul Gene Roden,
George Kimbrough, F. D. Mallory, III, and Mackey Charles to the Redistricting
Study Committee, be and they are hereby confirmed.
